StampINKSpiration Blog Hop : Color Combo inspiration

Ok alors pour ce saut, Angie nous a concocté un combo de couleur... et vraiment, 5 couleurs !! Tellement trop pour moi, j'ai vraiment eu peur de ne pas trouver comment les utiliser toutes.. Donc, combinaison de couleurs : Mystérieuse Brume, Lueur Estivale, Sous l'Ecume, Rouge-Rouge et Paon Pimpant.

J'ai commencé par sortir mes teintes d'encreurs pour les placer dans un dégradé et là, je me suis aperçue qu'il y avait effectivement moyen de les utiliser ensemble.

Ok so for this hop, Angie has concocted a colour combo for us... and really, 5 colours!!! So much too much for me, I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to figure out how to use them all... So, colour combo: Mysterious Mist, Summer Glow, Under the Mist, Red-Red and Dapper Peacock.

Wow. Really???

I started by taking out my inking colours and placing them in a gradient, and then I realised that there was actually a way of using them together.

1/ J'ai utilisé le set Classic Letters - disponible en exclusivités en ligne - pour réaliser un fond embossé à la poudre Transparente. C'est une étape un peu longue mais je suis obsédée par la typographie en ce moment alors *hausse les épaules* - Il faut aussi bien encrer chaque lettre, au risque d'obtenir le M un peu raté que j'ai sur mon premier mot.

2/ J'ai sorti mes brosses à estompe et mes encres pour réaliser un dégradé. En travaillant avec des petites brosses, il est plus facile de doser les encres et de les mélanger. On obtient un très joli fond.  Si si, je vous assure, ce sont bien les 5 teintes du combo ! Une fois le fond sec, on peut passer un petit chiffon sur les lettres pour enlever un surplus d'encre et faire ressortir le blanc des lettres.

3/ J'ai découpé le fond dans un poinçon Rectangle Ebarbé et j'ai ajouté mon vœu, découpé 3x, 1x en Vélin, 1x en Blanc et 1x en Noir. Le vœu a un véritable effet coup de poing sans cacher pour autant le travail du fond. Il ne reste plus qu'à répartir quelques ornements pour terminer la carte.

On peut aussi s'amuser à créer une autre carte, en tamponnant cette fois le mot chaque fois dans une nuance différente. J'y ai pensé… mais j'ai manqué de temps pour passer à l'acte, alors si vous avez envie d'essayer et de me montrer le résultat, je suis partante ^^.

Want a step-by-step guide ? Here it is

1/ I used the Classic Letters set - available exclusively online - to make a background embossed with Transparent powder. It's a bit of a time-consuming step, but I'm obsessed with typography at the moment so *shrug* - You also need to ink each letter properly, otherwise you risk getting the slightly messed-up M I have on my first word.

2/ I got out my blending brushes and inks to create a gradient. Working with small brushes, it's easier to measure out the inks and mix them. The result is a very pretty background.  Yes, I'm telling you, it's the 5 shades in the combo! Once the background is dry, you can run a small cloth over the letters to remove any excess ink and bring out the white of the letters.

3/ I cut the background out of a Deckled Rectangle dies and added my vow, cut out 3 times, 1 time in Vellum, 1 time in White and 1 time in Black. The vow has a real punch without hiding the background work. All that's left to do is add a few ornaments to finish off the card.

You can also have fun creating another card, this time stamping the word in a different shade each time. I thought about it... but I didn't have enough time to do it, so if you'd like to give it a go and show me the results, I'd love to ^^.
